As Director of Procurement and Logistics, you will play a key strategic and operational role at Metal7. You will manage critical supplies, optimize national and international logistics flows, and contribute directly to the company’s performance and growth.
Your objective: secure essential raw materials and components, develop and motivate your team, and implement efficient processes to support project success while reinforcing operational excellence.
Your future role
Strategic sourcing and purchasing
- Act as a strategic buyer for critical materials, long lead components and suppliers at risk.
- Define and execute strategies by category (make/buy, multisource, master agreements).
- Negotiate major contracts (price, incoterms, deadlines, performance clauses).
- Manage supply risks (supplier capacity, geopolitical context, transport, customs).
Leadership and team development
- Supervise and develop the strategic buyer and the logistics and customs compliance coordinator.
- Clarify roles, set objectives and develop team skills.
- Manage performance with measurable objectives aligned with operations.
Logistics and customs compliance
- Supervise inbound and outbound transport, optimize costs and lead times.
- Ensure full customs compliance (Canada, U.S., international).
- Manage logistics partners: carriers, forwarding agents, customs brokers.
Operational coordination
- Work closely with production, engineering, project management and finance.
- Ensure alignment between project needs, supplier capabilities and internal capabilities.
- Support complex projects requiring customized logistics (heavy equipment, international deliveries).
Performance and continuous improvement
- Define and monitor KPIs: supplier service rate, on-time delivery, costs, inventories, customs compliance.
- Set up robust processes and participate in optimization in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
Required Skills
Training and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, administration or supply chain.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, industrial purchasing and international logistics.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or complex industrial projects.

- ERP skills (SAP S/4HANA an asset)
