Megatraction develops innovative and safe lifting solutions for the mining industry. Our equipment, including the Megalifter, Superlifter and Prolifter, is recognized throughout the industry for its reliability, performance and ability to support the most demanding mining operations.
As Megatraction continues to expand its presence in Latin America, particularly in Chile and Peru, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to support our growth in this key mining region.
In this role, you will be part of a fast-moving organization where customer relationships, a strong understanding of field realities and a strategic approach are essential. You will actively contribute to developing new business opportunities, promoting our lifting solutions and strengthening our presence with major mining companies across Chile, Peru and the broader Latin American market.
Your future role
Market Development
- Develop business opportunities in the Latin American mining market, with a focus on Chile and Peru.
- Identify and approach mining companies, contractors, and maintenance organizations.
- Understand customer needs related to maintenance, shutdowns, reliability, safety, and operational performance.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and investment opportunities.
- Prepare and support technical and commercial proposals and presentations.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with key mining stakeholders, including maintenance, reliability, planning, procurement, and safety teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding operational challenges and proposing relevant solutions.
- Promote the company’s value proposition through a consultative sales approach.
- Identify opportunities for long-term agreements, improvement projects, and additional solutions.
- Ensure consistent and professional follow-up with customers.
Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Innovation teams to align customer needs with technical solutions.
- Share market feedback and field insights to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking in the CRM.
- Coordinate technical meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations.
Reporting & Representation
- Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline development, and market insights.
- Contribute to revenue, margin, and growth objectives for the LATAM market.
- Represent the company at mining conferences, trade shows, and client visits across Latin America, especially in Chile and Peru.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication skills with maintenance, reliability, and operations teams.
- Consultative sales approach and ability to understand technical challenges.
- Good knowledge of mining operations or heavy industrial environments.
- Proactive, organized, autonomous, and results-driven.
- Ability to collaborate with international teams.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Business, Mining, or a related technical background.
- 5–8 years of professional experience in mining operations, mining services, equipment supply, or technical sales within the mining sector.
- Direct experience working with mining operations in Chile or Peru is strongly preferred.
- Experience interacting with maintenance, reliability, or planification teams in mining operations.
- Exposure to large mining companies such as Codelco, BHP, Anglo American, Teck, Antofagasta Minerals, or similar operators is considered an asset.
- Experience with heavy equipment, maintenance services, or reliability improvement initiatives is highly valued.
